Something not working?
Write to support@songwriter-studio.com and a person will read it. Tell us what you were doing and what happened instead — that’s usually enough to find it.
Common questions
I signed up but never got the confirmation email.
Check spam and junk — it’s the usual culprit, particularly on Outlook and Hotmail. The link is good for 24 hours; after that it expires and you’ll need a fresh one. If it isn’t there, email us and we’ll confirm the account by hand.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Your songs are backed up and can be shared with co-writers, and both of those need to know who you are. Writing itself doesn’t need a connection — only the backing up does.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes, on the phone. Your songs live on the device; the connection is how they get backed up, not how you reach them. Write on a plane and it all syncs when you land. The browser version needs a connection, which is what you’d expect from a browser.
I wrote something on my phone and it’s not on my laptop.
Sync runs when the app opens and in the background while it’s in use. Open the app on the phone, give it a moment, then reload the browser. If it still hasn’t arrived, check the phone is signed in — Profile will tell you if the session has lapsed.
Can I write with someone who doesn’t have the app?
Invite them by email anyway. The invitation waits for them, and the song is there the moment they make an account.
Who can change my song?
Only who you say. Each person you invite is an owner, a writer or a viewer — a viewer can read the song and change nothing, which is what you want when you’re sending it to a manager or a lawyer.
What happens to a split once everyone agrees?
It’s timestamped and locked. Changing it means proposing a new one that everybody accepts again. The old agreement is kept.
Where are my recordings kept?
On your device, and backed up to your account. They’re private to you and to anyone you’ve invited onto that song.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Account → Delete account, in the app or in the browser. It removes your songs and their version history, your recordings, your ideas, chords and beats, your profile and photo, your saved contacts and messages, and the login itself. There’s no deactivation and no recovery window, so export anything you want to keep first.
One thing it doesn’t do: a song you wrote with someone else stays in their copy, and so does a split agreement you both signed. Their work is theirs, and an agreement shouldn’t evaporate because one person closed an account. Everything private to you is still removed. If you’d rather leave a shared song entirely, remove yourself from it first.
Can’t get into the app? Email us from the address on the account and we’ll do it for you.
