A studio, not a notes app

Every song, everywhere. Even offline.

Lyrics, chords, rhymes, takes and the people you write with — one place that works whether you’ve got five bars or none.

Open it in your browser now. The iPhone app is coming.

The Songwriter's Studio open in a browser: a list of songs on the left, the lyric to Long Way Down in the middle, and the takes panel on the right.

What’s in it

Write

A lyric sheet that stays out of the way, with syllable counts and a rhyming dictionary a tap away — 134,000 words, all of it on your device.

Catch it

Hum it before it’s gone. Takes live with the song, not in a separate voice-memo graveyard.

Build it

Chord progressions in the key you’re in, and a beat under it when a song starts as a groove.

Write together

Invite a co-writer by email. They see the song, the takes and the thread — and you both decide who can change what.

Settle the splits

Agree the percentages while everyone still remembers who wrote the bridge. Everybody accepts, it’s timestamped, and it’s locked.

Keep it

Every song is on your device first and backed up second, so a tunnel, a basement or a flight changes nothing.

The iPhone app is coming

Leave your email and we’ll tell you the day it’s out. One message, nothing else. Everything you write in the browser will already be in it.

We’ll only use it for this. No newsletter, and you can ask us to drop it any time at support@songwriter-studio.com.

Written offline. On purpose.

Most writing tools assume a signal. Songs don’t happen where there’s a signal — they happen in cars, on trains, in the back room of a venue at one in the morning. Everything here works with the aeroplane mode on, and catches up when you land.
